Reproduce the representative Indian Street Food in Taiwan with Sahin
Had an amazing veg dinner with Sahin last night!
Having missed this one of the most representative Mumbai street food during my stay in North India, I didn’t expect after so many years — before my next visit — I would be able to taste this!!!
Unlike the street vendor with the big griddles to serve huge amount, it’s enough to prepare the vegetable stew with pressure cooker at home, which is not just convenient but also saves a lot of time~ yet it does not compromise on the taste at all. With a lot of vegetables added in it, Bhaji is really a nutritious dish!
Without dinner rolls, we had the toast as juggad to eat with the main course (bhaji), moreover, we had the freshly chopped onions, lemon and peppermint chutney to add even more flavor to it~
The perfect dinner cannot be completed without dessert — here we had the carrot halwa — made of the shredded carrots as well as great amount of milk, and some cream, ghee and sugar (sometimes it’s replaced by condensed milk) , it’s not difficult to prepare this, instead, it takes time and patience — to keep cooking until the puree reduces to less than half of the original volume. It was so tasty that I can’t help wonder if Taiwanese kids can start their initial experiences of eating carrot in this way, probably they won’t hate carrots that bad😛
As huge foodies we are, we talked about many other food during the dinner as well lol Sahin also shared other typical dishes served during Eid celebration that almost made me drool — Biryani, Kheer and the special mutton samosa!!! (Ok, I’ve marked my calendar for it 😛)
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful meal with me ~ So lucky to have sucha talented friend like you here 😀 and Salute to your mom, the great women inspiring you in culinary art!
